Mollie Beattie Wilderness defines the interior landscape of this remote corner of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The drainage patterns here are dictated by the Old Crow River, which enters from the east and winds through the southeastern portion of the quadrangle. Other smaller watercourses, including Galena Creek and Lois Creek, carve through the complex terrain of the Brooks Range foothills. This 2024 survey captures a vast, roadless expanse where the natural hydrology remains the primary feature of the landscape. The map serves as a contemporary record of this protected wilderness area, documenting the exact contours and flow of the watershed in a region defined by its isolation and conservation status.
