Denali National Park and the Denali National Preserve meet along a critical jurisdictional boundary in this 2014 survey of the Matanuska-Susitna region. The landscape is dominated by massive ice features and glacial drainage systems, including the expansive Dall Glacier in the northwest and the Yentna Glacier to the east. These frozen giants feed the headwaters of the E Fork Yentna River, which cuts through the southern portion of the quadrangle. The map captures the sheer verticality of the Alaska Range where the high peaks of the park transition into the managed lands of the preserve, illustrating the complex topography of one of the most protected wilderness areas in the United States.
