Tchula Lake and the serpentine Millstone Bayou define the Western edge of the Mississippi Delta's alluvial plain before the terrain rises sharply into the eastern bluffs. This 2015 survey of the Tchula vicinity captures a landscape where the flat, fertile lowlands meet the winding watercourses of Horseshoe Lake and Dollar Lake. The town of Tchula sits at a geographic crossroads near Gwin, bordered by the water and the rising hills to the east.
