The Continental Divide winds along the high ridgelines of the Wind River Range, forming the boundary between Shoshone National Forest and Bridger National Forest. This high-altitude landscape is characterized by a dense network of glacial lakes and dramatic summits, including Temple Peak, East Temple Peak, and Wind River Peak at the eastern edge. Water from the snowfields feeds numerous drainages, such as the Big Sandy River, Rapid Creek, and the headwaters of Little Sandy Creek.
