Bear River winds through the eastern edge of this landscape, its waters diverted into the Gentile Valley Canal to support agriculture across the Gem Valley. The terrain is defined by the high elevations of the Portneuf Range, which occupies the western half of the map, rising to peaks like Thatcher Hill. Along the base of these mountains, smaller watercourses including Densmore Creek, Smith Creek, and Alder Creek drain toward the valley floor.
