About this map

Agricultural irrigation networks define the landscape surrounding Thatcher and Bothwell in this Box Elder County survey. The Highline Canal and West Canal dominate the eastern portion of the map, cutting across a grid of rural roads and supporting the small farming communities of the Bear River Valley. Further south, the settlement of Penrose sits near the lowlands of Peterson Pond, where the terrain transitions toward the marshes of the Great Salt Lake.
