Yellowstone National Park and the Teton National Forest meet in this wilderness corner, where the high ridges of the Absaroka Range dominate the topography. The prominent landform known as The Trident rises between the headwaters of several drainages, illustrating the complex hydrology of the Continental Divide region. A network of backcountry routes, including the Thorofare Trl and Mountain Creek Trl, follows the natural corridors carved by the Yellowstone River and Thorofare River.
