Okanogan National Forest land dominates this western Washington landscape, where high ridgelines and creek drainages dictate the local navigation. The terrain is defined by prominent elevations such as Virginian Ridge in the north and the central Thompson Ridge, separated by a complex network of waterways including Wolf Creek and Little Bridge Creek. In the eastern section, Patterson Lake provides a rare low-elevation water body amidst the rising slopes.
