Tribune and neighboring Horace center this High Plains landscape, representing the principal settlements of Greeley County. The town plan of Tribune is clearly delineated by its grid of state-named streets such as Kansas St and Wyandotte St, while Horace sits just to the west connected by the Horace-Tribune Rd. This 2018 survey reveals the organized agricultural layout typical of the region, where a network of section-line roads like Co Rd S and Co Rd U divides the terrain into large parcels. On the eastern edge of Tribune, the Greeley County Cem and the Tribune Municipal Airport mark the transition between the urban center and the open prairie. To the north, the intermittent drainage of White Woman Cr cuts through the township, providing one of the few natural topographic variations in an otherwise rectilinear landscape defined by the Public Land Survey System divisions of t18s r40w and t18s r41w.
