Twin Lakes Mtn and its namesake high-altitude waters anchor this high-elevation corner of the Umpqua National Forest in the southern Cascade Range. The landscape is defined by its complex drainage network, where Copeland Cr and French Cr carve deep valleys between prominent peaks like Doehead Mtn and Buckhead Mtn. Small alpine wetlands and openings, including Sheep Prairie and Cow Prairie, suggest the high-country meadows used for seasonal grazing or habitat.
