The borderlands of Bee, Live Oak, and San Patricio Counties are defined by a network of farm-to-market roads and seasonal drainages such as Olmos Cr and Papalote Cr. The settlement of Tynan sits at a critical junction of FM 796 and FM 888, serving as a focal point for the surrounding agricultural landscape. Further west, the small community of Argenta and the vanished-interest site of Olmos mark the transition toward the drainage basins of Lake Corpus Christi.
