Porcupine Mountains terrain dominates this portion of the Ottawa National Forest, where the landscape is defined by its complex drainage systems and protected wilderness. The high ground of Underwood Hill and Porcupine Peak overlooks a network of creeks and rivers, including the Little Carp River and the W Br Iron River. A notable feature for hikers and conservationists is the N Country National Scenic Trail, which winds through the northern sections past Lily Pond and Greenstone Falls.
