Unityville serves as the central hub of this agricultural landscape in eastern South Dakota. The village sits west of the W Fork Vermillion River, which winds south toward the township line. The terrain is part of the Coteau des Prairies, a high glacial plateau that shapes the local hydrology and drainage patterns. This 2015 survey reveals a strictly organized section-line road system, including Stark Rd and numerous numbered avenues and streets that segment the prairie into manageable farmsteads.
