About this map

The delta of the North Fork Skagit River creates a complex landscape of shifting sediments and low-lying landforms where the river meets Skagit Bay. Central to this environment is Fir Island, protected by an extensive network of Levee systems and drained by numerous waterways including Browns Slough and Dry Slough. The interaction between the river and the tide is evident in the broad expanses of Mud and Sand that stretch between Craft Island and Bald Island.
