The Arctic tundra of the North Slope is defined by its complex drainage patterns, as seen in this 2014 survey. The landscape is dominated by the meandering course of Kolipsun Cr as it winds through the eastern and central sections, while the western portion of the territory is shaped by the tributaries of Maguriak Cr. These water bodies are surrounded by a high density of thaw lakes and ponds, typical of the permafrost-underlain terrain of this northern region.
