Humboldt National Forest encompasses much of this high-elevation landscape in White Pine County, dominated by the peaks of the Egan Range. The terrain is characterized by a series of dramatic vertical transitions, from the broad White River Valley up through the Lower Terrace and Upper Terrace to the summit of Ward Mtn. Water sources are critical identifiers in this arid environment, with numerous points like Meadow Seep Spring, Ruth Spring, and Blue Spring providing essential resources along the mountain flanks.
