Humboldt National Forest occupies the western portion of this high-desert Nevada terrain, characterized by significant elevation changes that drop away from the mountains into Garden Valley. The hydrography of the region is defined by ephemeral and intermittent features, such as the Dry Wash and Spring Cr, which channel seasonal runoff through the arid landscape. In the southern reaches of the quadrangle, the Uhalde Reservoir stands as a notable water management point along Bruno Cr.
