Glass Mtn Ridge dominates the northern horizon of this high-altitude landscape, where the Sierra Nevada's influence meets the Great Basin. The terrain is defined by deep cuts like Wilfred Canyon and Watterson Canyon, with the Wilfred Cr draining toward the expansive Long Valley. To the south, the waters of Lake Crowley and the Owens River mark a critical hydrographic transition. Local infrastructure is minimal, consisting primarily of remote routes such as Benton Crossing Rd and the Watterson Troughs Rd. These roads provide access to specific points of interest for land management and recreation, including the Layton Springs area and the cattle-grazing landmarks of the Watterson Troughs. A large portion of the quadrangle is situated within the Inyo National Forest, preserving the character of this mountain-and-basin environment.
