The settlement of Waukon serves as the central hub of this eastern Washington landscape, situated within a section-line grid of rural roads. The area is defined by its agricultural character and open spaces, most notably Tucker Prairie and Malloy Prairie. These grasslands are punctuated by several small water bodies, including Hedin Lake and the interestingly named Lonelyville Lake near the eastern edge of the quadrangle.
