West Union sits at the heart of this central Minnesota landscape, where the prairie meets the transition to the lake country of Todd and Stearns counties. The area is defined by its complex glacial hydrology, featuring numerous water bodies such as Lake Osakis, W Union Lake, and the smaller Guernsey Lake. These lakes are connected by a network of moving water including the Sauk River and Ashley Cr, which wind through the township lines of T127N and T128N.
