Lake Willoughby dominates the southern landscape of this Vermont quadrangle, its deep basin flanked by the steep rises of Goodwin Mtn and May Pond Mtn. The terrain is defined by a glacial history that carved out numerous water bodies including Echo Lake, Pensioner Pond, and the smaller Lubber Lake. Settlement is concentrated around the small village of Westmore at the lake's northern tip and the community of East Brownington to the west.
