Prospect anchors the southeast corner of this Jackson County survey, situated near the powerful descent of the Rogue River. The landscape is defined by the high ridges and deep drainages of the Rogue River National Forest, where features like Whetstone Point, Bald Mtn, and Halls Point oversee a network of forest roads and creeks. Water management for the region is evident through the P P & L Canal and several elevated catchments, including Bassett Reservoir and the Persist Ranch Reservoirs located along Willits Ridge.
