White Horse Mtn dominates this eastern Elko County landscape, where the high desert terrain of the Goshute Mountains meets the wide, open stretches of Antelope Valley and Dolly Varden Flat. This region is defined by its critical water sources, a vital resource for livestock and wildlife in the Great Basin. A cluster of named seeps, including White Horse Springs, Little White Horse Spring, and the numbered series of Battle Spring Number One, Battle Spring Number Two, and Battle Spring Number Three, are tucked into the drainages below the peaks. Transportation history is etched into the basin floor, where the modern path of Alt 93 runs parallel to the trace of Old Hwy 93, while the Kinsley Mountain Rd strikes out toward the southwest. This 2014 survey documents the enduring topography and essential springs of a remote Nevada mountain pass.
