White Mountain Peak dominates the southeast corner of this high-altitude landscape in the White-Inyo Range of Mono County. The terrain is defined by a series of steep drainages, including Cottonwood Canyon and Middle Canyon, which carry seasonal runoff toward the valley floor below. Several prominent summits mark the ridgelines, notably Mount Hogue, Indian Peak, and Headley Peak.
