White Owl Butte and Bitters Butte rise above the high plains of Idaho-Madison County, defining a landscape of deep canyons and seasonal watercourses. The local hydrology is managed through the Canyon Cr Canal in the northeast, while the natural drainage of Moody Cr winds through the southwestern section. The topographical relief is dominated by Long Hollow, which cuts a significant path across the terrain, and the distinctive bend known as the Elbow of Moody Creek.
