The Santa Rosa Range defines the high-elevation geography of this northern Nevada landscape, where the Humboldt National Forest spans the steep eastern slopes. This 2021 survey documents the intricate network of watercourses and primitive access routes that penetrate the mountains, including the prominent drainage of White Rock Canyon and the headwaters of Skull Cr. The terrain is marked by a complex system of forest roads and trails, such as the Willow Creek Trl and the Solid Silver Spur C Mototrail Trl, which provide access to the high backcountry south of the Spring Canyon area.
