Badlands National Park borders the northeastern corner of this Oglala Lakota County landscape, where the high prairie meets complex drainage systems. The terrain is defined by the Tahc'a Okute Aglehan ridge and the intricate branching of watercourses, including the Tahc'a Okute Wakpa and the various forks of Willow Creek. Unlike more developed regions, this area maintains a remote character with infrastructure limited primarily to Bia Hwy 2 and Red Shirt Table Rd.
