Winchester Peak dominates this mountainous landscape along the high border between Stevens and Pend Oreille counties. This area is characterized by the complex drainage systems of the Colville Nat For and Kaniksu National Forest, where numerous high-altitude streams like Dorchester Creek and Gletty Creek carve deep into the terrain. The presence of Flowery Trail Road provides the primary access route through these forest lands, crossing the numerous forks of the North Fork Calispell Creek.
