Saint Froid Lake dominates the western edge of this northern Maine landscape, where the settlements of Winterville and Quimby are situated along the eastern shore. The terrain is defined by significant elevations such as Pennington Mtn and Hedgehog Mtn, which rise sharply above the river valleys. The Aroostook RD serves as the primary corridor through this region, connecting the small community at McNally to the southern reach of Nixon.
