The Coweeman River and the South Fork Toutle River carve through the heavily forested uplands of Cowlitz County in this early 1980s field-checked study. The landscape is dominated by industrial resource extraction and rugged topography, evidenced by numerous Borrow Pit sites scattered across the terrain. Human activity is largely limited to the former location of Camp Coweeman (Site) and primitive access via Rose Valley Rd.
