The Yellowstone River cuts through the northern portion of this landscape, flanked by a complex system of irrigation infrastructure including Line Ditch, Krone Ditch, and Kent Ditch. These man-made waterways reflect the agricultural necessity of moving water from the river to the surrounding basins and valleys. The settlement of Quebec is positioned near the river, south of Shanks Basin, and provides a focal point for the transit corridor that follows the river's path, including Old US Hwy 10 and several frontage roads.
