Hildebrand and the high desert terrain of eastern Klamath County define this 2014 survey. The landscape transitions from the volcanic slopes of Yainax Ridge and Bly Mtn down into the pastoral valleys of Yonna. Much of the northern portion is occupied by the Winema National Forest, where the terrain is marked by significant features like Maynard Flat and the headwaters of Modoc Billy Cr at Boundary Spring.

A network of drainage and water management is evident throughout the southern reaches, including Fisher Cr, Wildhorse Cr, and Buck Cr. Notable water bodies like Johnny Lake, Log Lake, and the Cox Reservoir suggest the area's agricultural and hydrologic character. The transportation corridor is anchored by the Bly Mountain Cutoff Rd, which winds through Wildhorse Canyon to cross Bly Mountain Pass, connecting remote ranchlands and homesteads like those at Happy Hollow.
