Albany serves as the focal point of this Stearns County landscape, sitting at the junction of the Great Northern and Soo Line railroads. The town’s social and spiritual centers are well-marked, including the Seven Dolors Cem and the Ebenezer Cem near the banks of Albany Lake. The surrounding township lines of Krain, Holding, Albany, and Avon divide a glacial terrain defined by numerous basins such as Two River Lake and Vos Lake. Local infrastructure of the mid-1960s is preserved through the locations of rural schools like School No 2043 and School No 2031, alongside the Radio Tower (KASM) and the small northern settlement of St Anthony. This survey captures the transition from a purely agricultural and rail-oriented economy toward modern local communications and updated road networks in Central Minnesota.
