Alpine Ranch sits on the high plains of Eastern Colorado, where the arid landscape is defined by the ephemeral drainage patterns of the N Fork Smoky Hill River and its tributary, Cow Cr. This 2019 survey captures the intersection of Kit Carson Co and Cheyenne Co, a boundary traced across a vast grid of section lines and gravel paths including Co Rd GG. The land is predominantly organized for cattle ranching, with the terrain marked by subtle shifts in elevation that guide the flow of seasonal water towards the Smoky Hill river system. A network of county roads, such as Co Rd 30 and Co Rd 35, provides the primary infrastructure for this sparsely populated agricultural region, connecting isolated ranch sites across the township lines of T11S and T12S.
