About this map

Burr Oak Bottom spreads across the wide floodplain where the Missouri River forms the state line between Missouri and Kansas. The settlement of Amazonia sits at the edge of the bluffs, positioned near the confluence of Mace Creek and Quincy Hopkins Creek. The landscape transition from the flat river valley to the dissected uplands is marked by numerous small cemeteries, such as Clizer Cem and Jackson Cem, which reflect the long-standing agricultural communities of Jackson and Lincoln townships.
