Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore dominates the northern shoreline of this Upper Peninsula landscape, where the Grand Sable River and Hurricane River meet the coast. The interior is a dense network of water and timberland, split between the Burt State Forest and Seney State Forest. Small lakeside settlements like Green Haven and Sunrise Landing provide points of human activity amidst a vast collection of glacial lakes, including Deadman Lake, Bearfoot Lake, and Teal Lake.
