Noatak National Preserve encompasses much of this wilderness landscape in the Northwest Arctic Borough, where the terrain is defined by the winding course of the Agashashok River. The river flows south and east through several townships, including t25n r14w and t26n r14w, cutting through a landscape of sharp elevation changes shown by dense contour intervals. This 2015 survey reflects the contemporary boundaries of the preserve, emphasizing the natural hydrography and the Public Land Survey System grid over human development. The absence of roads, settlements, or structures underscores the remote and protected character of this portion of the Baird Mountains, making it a primary reference for understanding the geography of the Agashashok drainage.
