Baker and the rolling ranch lands of Cottle County are defined by a complex network of seasonal drainage and deep incisions into the Texas plains. The northern edge of the territory is dominated by the N Pease River, which flows past the dramatic geological landmark of Ninety-Foot Canyon. This landscape is characterized by its numerous named creeks, including Raggedy Bill Cr and the extensive branches of Catfish Cr, which carve through the terrain south of the river breaks.
