Bayamón and its surrounding municipalities occupy a landscape where the dense urban grid of the San Juan metropolitan area meets the northern coastal plains and the foothills of the interior. The coastal interface is defined by the Ensenada de Boca Vieja and the sprawling residential development of Levittown, which is punctuated by the Lagos de Levittown. To the east, the historic maritime significance of the region is anchored by the San Juan National Historic Site and the fortified position at Isla de Cabras, guarding the western entrance to San Juan Bay.
