Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness defines this section of Idaho, where the protected lands of the Salmon National Forest and Boise National Forest converge. This system includes the Bernard Trl and Sheep Creek Trl, tracing the same steep canyons and ridges used for generations. The lack of modern road infrastructure highlights the primitive character of the terrain, where drainage features like Countess Gulch and Tappon Gulch dictate movement through the back-country.
