The Colville Indian Reservation encompasses much of this landscape along the northern bank of the Columbia River, which forms the southern boundary of the quadrangle. In the late 1980s, the river here appears as the expansive Rufus Woods Lake, a reservoir formed by the Grand Coulee Dam just downstream. Small riverside settlements like Seatons Grove, Koontzville, and Elmer City are concentrated along the riverbanks, while the small community of Belvedere sits further inland.

Away from the main waterway, the terrain is characterized by a series of high-plateau water bodies including Buffalo Lake, McGinnis Lake, and Rebecca Lake. The northern reach is cut by the Little Nespelem River and the prominent Kaiser Canyon, where several Prospect labels indicate a history of mineral exploration. This survey serves as a detailed record of land use and water management in Okanogan and Douglas Counties during this era.
