Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park encompasses much of this landscape, where massive ice fields meet the southern peaks of the Chugach Mountains. The terrain is defined by the convergence of several major glacial systems, with the southern reaches of the Tana Glacier and Jefferies Glacier feeding into the massive expanse of the Bering Glacier. This 2017 survey documents the complex topography of the ice and rock at a time of significant cryospheric change in the region.
