The Big Lue Mountains dominate this high-altitude landscape along the Arizona-New Mexico border, where the Apache National Forest meets the Gila National Forest. This 1997 revision shows a region defined by its rugged topography and the critical infrastructure of water management in a high-desert environment. Numerous tanks and springs, such as Bear Track Tank, Big Lue Spring, and Black Jack Spring, are distributed across the terrain to support local livestock operations, centered around the Big Lue Ranch and Big Lue Corral.
