About this map

Buck Canyon Gas Field dominates the high ground of Uintah County, showing the region as a growing center for energy production in the late 1960s. The landscape is carved by a complex network of drainage systems, including Willow Creek to the west and the converging East Fork and West Fork that feed into the southern draws. Industrial infrastructure is prominent throughout the terrain, marked by an extensive Aboveground Pipeline and numerous Gas Well locations. Evidence of earlier habitation and movement appears in the form of a small Cem near the western bluffs and several winding Jeep Trails that negotiate the broken topography. The map also identifies local natural landmarks such as Sulphur Spring and Broome Canyon, providing a detailed record of this resource-rich corner of the Uinta Basin.
