Bowman Hill rises above the high plains of Campbell County in this 2012 survey, anchored by the Dickinson Ranch in the southern reaches of the quadrangle. The landscape is defined by its complex drainage systems, where N Fork Duck Cr, S Fork Duck Cr, and E Fork Duck Cr converge to form Duck Cr. This network of intermittent streams is supported by numerous ranching reservoirs, such as the McConnell Number 1 Reservoir and Tony Reservoir, which illustrate the essential water management required for livestock operations in the Powder River Basin. The terrain transitions from the open flats near Houston Spring to the distinct geological formations at Squaw Butte and the Duck Creek Breaks. Local transit relies on a handful of established thoroughfares including Rocky Point Rd and Parks Rd, providing access to this sparsely populated rangeland.
