The confluence of the Okanogan River and the Columbia River serves as the focal point for this study of the border between Okanogan and Douglas counties. Modern infrastructure and historical terrain features converge around the settlements of Brewster and Bridgeport. The landscape is defined by its distinct flats and prominent high points, including the broad reaches of Brewster Flat and Snider Flat, which contrast with the sharp relief of Castle Rock and Timber Peak.
