Large-scale tailing deposits dominate the river corridor between Daguerre Point and Hammonton, revealing the intensive environmental transformation of the region during the mining era. To the north, the hills above Browns Valley are dotted with legacy operations like the Donnebroge Mine and Pennsylvania Mine, while the Browns Valley Ridge provides a natural barrier between the river valley and the northern ranch lands.

The southern portion of the sheet shows the sprawling extent of Beale Air Force Base, with its southern boundary defined by Camp Beale Road.
