San Miguelito Cem and the nearby Ojo de Vaca Cem anchor the southeastern portion of this landscape, marking historic sites of rest in a region of deep arroyos and canyons. The terrain transitions from the high elevations of the Santa Fe National Forest in the northeast down toward the winding drainage of Cañada Colorado and Arroyo Colorado.
