The Crow Wing River winds through this central Minnesota landscape, defining a wetland-rich corridor where Barrows Rapids and Weston Rapids break the water's flow. Situated along the boundary of Wadena and Cass counties, the area is characterized by an extensive network of drainage features including Big Swamp Cr and Little Swamp Cr. These tributaries feed into the larger river system, which is further managed by the Crackel Dam in the southeastern quadrant.
