Casnovia and Kent City anchor the northeastern corner of this West Michigan landscape, where the borders of Muskegon, Kent, and Ottawa Counties converge. The region is defined by a dense network of country roads and agricultural sections, punctuated by small crossroads settlements like Canada Corners and Harrisburg. The terrain is drained by several creek systems, most notably the N Br Crockery Cr and the winding Rio Grande Cr. For family historians, the sheet is exceptionally detailed, locating numerous burial grounds including South Casnovia Cem, Saint Francis Xavier's Cem, and Trinity Lutheran Cem. The western portion of the map is dominated by the waters of Crockery Lake, while the eastern side shows the headwaters of Nash Cr and Ball Cr. This 2017 survey reflects a rural landscape that has maintained its traditional layout of farmsteads and township sections well into the modern era.
